Product description

Romano Volubilis Ivory Travertine Blocks are among the most refined, historical, and highly sought-after raw material exports in the international architectural stone market — a premium porous sedimentary stone formed through mineral-rich spring precipitation over geological ages. Its hallmark is a luminous cream-ivory and pale alabaster backdrop, elegantly layered with subtle hazelnut striations, soft champagne shading, and delicate linear voids when vein-cut, or a serene cloud-like alabaster texture when cross-cut. Renowned for its exceptionally light, uniform ivory palette and dense, micro-crystalline structure, this grade of travertine embodies classical Mediterranean sophistication paired with outstanding physical durability. Its solid block integrity, uniform bedding alignment, and high net slab recovery make these quarry blocks the top-tier material of choice for luxury architectural facade systems, modern commercial flooring, feature wall cladding, and bespoke architectural masonry worldwide.

Processing & Machinery Assessment

GANGSAW & DISK SAW SUITABILITY

This block has been assessed as exceptionally well-suited for modern gangsaw equipment, diamond multi-wire saws, and large-diameter circular disk saws. Standard block dimensions of L-280 cm × B-165 cm × H-150 cm fall directly within the optimal processing window for high-efficiency gangsaw mounting and maximum net slab recovery. Romano Volubilis Ivory Travertine’s cohesive matrix, lack of structural fissures, and consistent mineral hardness ensure smooth, low-vibration sawing with minimal blade deflection, making it an outstanding candidate for precision vein-cut slabbing and book-matching projects.

  • Recommended Processing: Gangsaw or multi-wire saw slabbing (1.8 cm, 2 cm & 3 cm), followed by full-surface pore filling (transparent or light ivory epoxy/mastic resin), face calibration, and high-gloss mirror polishing or velvety satin honing
  • Expected Slab Yield: Approximately 75–85 slabs per block (based on 1.8 cm slab thickness) or 54–64 slabs per block (based on 2.5 cm thickness)
  • Finish/Polish Result: A luminous, ultra-glossy mirror finish when resin-filled that illuminates the stone's pure ivory undertones, or a velvety matte-honed surface that creates a soft, organic architectural finish
